8月29日 WorldCatWorldCat.org searches the catelogs of
over 10,000 libraries. First, it finds the book or music and then you identify
where you're at. When searching for a book, if there are several titles,
it will give you a list of authors and languages to narrow down your
choices. Very nice. 8月19日 Still posting about searchInteresting that Google entered a $900MM relationship with myspace. I think Murdock only paid $600MM for the site all together. 8月18日 I see that Dhoondho was added to OpenSearchOpenSearch: Plugins for IE7 and
Firefox recently saw Dhoondho added. Their web site says
Labs Dhoondho : A Certified Web-2 Company, which must be one of those
silly slogans with a twist of humor, since no two definitions of web 2.0 are the
same. 8月11日 Interesting how search is evolving on the internetAlthough Google remains the dominant force,
verticals are increasingly important. What's a vertical? Like
Wikipedia, Indeed, travel sites, and so on. Because they have context to
know what you're looking for, they can deliver more accurate results.
Normal traffic analysis compares Google versus Yahoo and so on. But it'd
be interesting to see traffic of Google versus the
verticals. HubPages and Squido.comHubPages and Squido.com are competitors. I see that HubPages got added to Search Plugins. I don't think Squido has been added. I'm not sure if either of these interesting services has gained enough traction in the market to be viable. Interesting business models, though. |
